I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers. - Claude Monet
Welcome to my new work where my glass flowers are no longer beads but part of a larger sculpture piece. Here you will find my whimsical side as it grows.

Boro glass is referred to as 'hard' glass. It takes more heat to melt, it is more demanding but allows you time in which to shape it. I am starting basically with clear because it is easier to make sure you are getting your welds done well and it's less expensive when you are learning. I have made a dozen or more small flower sculptures but my love is to learn how to make small aquatic sculptures. My first attempt is School of Trout. Lewis taught me to make the generic fish and now I am learning how to make a species. I much prefer fresh water fish...this is so exciting!
