I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers. - Claude Monet
Violets
Creation of the Violets
When I want to enter into a Juried Contest whether it is sponsored by a Vendor, Magazine or Publishers, I always try to create a flower and a design that is different then anything I have done before. I don't make jewelry except as a showpiece or to display at the beads shows but I sometimes sell the work after the event is put to bed. Namely, after any requests for better or more pictures is done.
The violets are actually made with Moretti Glass and even though they come in a variety of colors in the garden I thought the purple would be far more appealing. This necklace has a lot of flowers, leaves and weaving but it also has a silver catepillar that is jointed as the center focal point of the necklace.

Who would have thought it possible that a tiny little flower could preoccupy a person so completely that there simply wasn't room for any other thought.... - Sophie Scholl
