Elk Herd in Northern New Mexico
November 6, 2015

This is my first sighting of a herd of elk and it was so beautiful that I wished that my camera was a professional because the digital 12x zoom just couldn't get close enough to make me happy.

SANDHILL CRANES AND CANADIAN GEESE
The Rio Grande River runs through the valley of Albuquerque as the foothills climb to the east and the plataues are to the west.  Along the river, the crops are usually grains which have been cut down and left with stubbles and seeds.  The perfect haven for the waterfowl that fly through the valley heading to the wet lands down south.
