The name for the studio came from "River of Grass" which is the name for the Everglades west of Fort Lauderdale where the sawgrass goes for miles and is taller than you can see. The original studio was in my cottage behind my house and I would like to tell you that it was a great teaching studio but it really was more for fun. South Florida has a lot of really good glass artists that I miss a lot. In 2010, I sold my house and moved to New Mexico to marry Lewis Wilson. In 2011, I took down the River of Glass Website and started selling in my Etsy store. Since then I have promoted my work under my name and now my work is under both the River of Glass Studio and Barbara Svetlick.
